Our main programs are designed as a one-day check-ups which are usually completed within several hours and are perfectly suited for busy people, who have little flexibility with their agenda.

 

In MedEx we offer our patients a range of Comprehensive Health Screening Programs, which include detection of risk factors and early diagnosis of potentially life-threatening conditions, such as cardiovascular or oncologic diseases, as well as other diseases and conditions which may substantially impact quality of life.

 

MedEx check-up clinic is situated in the heart of Tel Aviv metropolitan area, in the Diamond Exchange District of Ramat Gan and is easily approached by personal vehicles and public transportation. The Check-Up clinic building was built and designed to fit for its intended purposes in the best possible way. It houses under the same roof various diagnostic units with state-of-the-art medical equipment, VIP areas, showers, convenient waiting areas and café.

 

Basic Comprehensive Health Screening Program

  • Meeting with internal medicine specialist who will provide you with recommendations after diagnostic interview and physical assessment.
  • Blood tests:

Complete Blood Count including differential.

Liver function tests: GOT, GPT, bilirubin, AP, GGT, albumin, total protein, LDH, glucose.

Lipid panel: Total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides.

Kidney function tests: Urea, creatinine.

Thyroid function tests: TSH level.

  • PSA level (early detection of prostate cancer in men). For eligible patients only.
  • Additional blood tests: Based on the primary diagnostic information, if needed, the patient will be referred for additional blood tests, for example, glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1C) level for the detection of occult diabetes or TSH level for detection of thyroid problems.
  • Urinalysis: Measurement of urine pH, red and white blood cells count, assessment for glucose, protein, nitrites, ketone bodies and bile pigments.
  • Fecal occult blood (early detection of colon cancer). For eligible patients only.
  • Hearing test: Assessment of hearing threshold.
  • Ophthalmology assessment including fundus examination, intraocular pressure measurement (tonometry) and visual acuity test.
  • Pulmonary function tests: Spirometry.
  • Cardiac assessment: Examination by cardiologist, rest and stress ECG (ergometry).
  • Individually recommended tests and examinations: Based on the patient’s age, sex, personal and family medical history and other medical information, the patient may be referred for additional diagnostic studies, such as gynecological examination, breast examination (early detection of breast cancer), Pap-smear (early detection of cervical cancer) and gynecologic ultrasound.
  • Skin check by dermatologist: Possible at additional charge (on another day).

 

Extended Comprehensive Health Screening Program

  • Meeting with internal medicine specialist who will provide you with recommendations after diagnostic interview and physical assessment. .
  • Blood tests:

Complete Blood Count including differential.

Liver function tests: GOT, GPT, bilirubin, AP, GGT, albumin, total protein, LDH, glucose.

Lipid panel: Total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides.

Kidney function tests: Urea, creatinine.

Thyroid function tests: TSH level.

  • Additional blood studies: Vitamin B12 and D levels, TSH level.
  • PSA level (early detection of prostate cancer in men). For eligible patients only.

  • Individually recommended tests and examinations: Based on the patient’s age, sex, personal and family medical history and other medical information the patient may be referred for additional diagnostic studies, such as gynecological examination, breast examination (early detection of breast cancer), Pap-smear (early detection of cervical cancer) and gynecologic ultrasound.
  • Skin check by dermatologist: Possible at additional charge (on another day).
  • Nutritionist counseling based on laboratory findings.

 

Cancer Screening And Early Detection Program

The Cancer Screening And Early Detection Program includes a variety of tests intended for early detection of different types of cancer, as well as identification and prevention of risk factors.

Early Detection of Cardiovascular Diseases Program

The Early Detection of Cardiovascular Diseases Program includes detection of atherosclerosis using specific tests and blood vessels assessment with non-invasive ultrasound measurement of intima-media thickness, as well as Carotid Duplex Scan for CVA prevention.

Early detection of cancer

 In MedEx there is a special diagnostic unit intended for early detection and prevention of different types of cancer as well as identification of risk factors for developing them. The assessment process is based on thorough screening of patient’s personal and family medical history, his habits and early identification of risk factors.

 Genetic testing for genetic mutations associated with high risk of developing certain cancers

In case of known genetic mutations associated with high risk of developing certain cancers the patient can be offered a personally tailored screening program for early detection and advance planning of preventive interventions. In many cases early detection saves lives as detected early, many types of cancers can be successfully treated.

Testicular cancer • Physical examination. • Teaching self-examination. If needed – referral for testicular Ultrasound.
Breast cancer • Breast examination. • Mammography. • Breast Ultrasound. For eligible patients only.
Cervical cancer • Comprehensive gynecological examination. • Pap-test (early detection of cervical cancer).
Uterine and ovarian cancer • Pelvic Ultrasound.
Oral cancer • Physical examination by maxillofacial surgeon.
Clinical nutrition • Nutritionist counseling on healthy diet with the focus on cancer prevention.

Additional tests and examinations (recommended individually)

The existing health screening programs can be extended with the following test and examination according to the physician’s recommendations, at additional charge (at special prices for patients undergoing our health screening programs):

  • Virtual colonoscopy (non-invasive imaging study for early detection of colon cancer).
  • Colonoscopy/gastroscopy (invasive examinations). For eligible patients only.
  • Chest CT for early detection of lung cancer. Usually this examination is recommended for smoking patients and those with history of smoking. For eligible patients only.
  • Genetic consultation.
  • Genetic testing.
  • Abdominal ultrasound. For eligible patients only.
