What is an MRI Scan?

An MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scan is a modern test that helps doctors see very clear and detailed pictures of the inside of your body without using harmful radiation.

The scan is done with a  MRI machine that uses a strong magnet and radio waves to create detailed images. With MRI, doctors can check the brain, spine, joints, muscles, blood vessels, and many other organs safely and accurately.

Why is an MRI done?

An MRI is used to accurately diagnose a wide range of medical conditions, such as:

  • Unexplained pain in different parts of the body, including the head, back, or neck

  • Suspected herniated discs

  • Tumors or inflammatory processes

  • Sports injuries

  • Problems in the central nervous system (for example, multiple sclerosis)

  • Follow-up after surgery or medical treatment

The scan is performed according to a precise medical protocol, depending on the area being examined and the clinical purpose.

FAQ

Does Medex accepts Insurance Guaranty of Payment?

Yes, Medex collaborate with numerous international Health and Travel Insurance companies and can accept their guarantee of payment to cover your medical expenses.

What is Insurance Guarantee of Payment?

Guarantee of Payment (GOP) from an insurance company is a formal assurance provided by your insurer to a healthcare provider, confirming that the insurer will cover specified medical expenses for a policyholder. This document is typically issued before the medical service is provided, ensuring that the provider will receive payment for the agreed-upon services

How to obtain Guaranty Of Payment from my Insurance?

Pre-Authorization:
The healthcare provider (Medex) requests pre-authorization from the insurance company before delivering non-emergency services to the patient. This step ensures that the services are covered under the patient’s insurance policy.

Insurance Company Review:
The insurer reviews the request to determine whether the proposed medical services are necessary and covered under the patient’s policy. This may involve evaluating the patient’s medical history, the proposed treatment plan, and the policy details.

  1. Issuance of GOP:

    • Upon approval, the insurance company issues a GOP to the healthcare provider. This document outlines the specific services covered, the maximum amount payable, and any terms or conditions associated with the payment.
  2. Direct Billing:

    • With the GOP in place, the healthcare provider(Medex) can proceed with the treatment, knowing they will receive payment directly from the insurance company. The patient typically does not need to pay upfront for the covered services, except for any applicable deductibles, co-pays, or uncovered expenses.
  3. Submission of Claims:

    • After providing the services, the healthcare provider (Medex) submits the medical claims along with the GOP to the insurance company for processing and payment.
